  • Collection of Personal Data

    From time to time, MCA collects personal data (including, without limitation, name, identity card number, address, e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers, demographic data, purchasing habits or other information) from Users. MCA may collect such personal data as part of the registration process for Users or when Users submit comments or other correspondence to MCA through its web site or otherwise. Additionally, MCA may collect personal data through its web site by using cookies, clicktrails or other methods of monitoring web usage. If you do not want to receive a cookie from its web site, you may set your browser to refuse cookies or to notify you when you receive a cookie, which you may then refuse upon such notice.

  • Use, Disclosure and Transfer of Personal Data

    MCA will keep all personal data confidential but may use and disclose the personal data that it collects for a number of purposes, including:

    (i)          maintenance and administration of the web site;

    (ii)          following up on comments and other messages that Users submit to MCA through its web site;

    (iii)         compiling aggregate statistics of the use of its web site;

    (iv)         marketing and promotional efforts by or on behalf of MCA;

    (v)         liaising and communicating with government departments or agencies;

    (vi)         ensuring Users' ongoing credit worthiness;

    (vii)        complying with the relevant legislations and regulations;

    (viii)       determining the amount of outstanding subscription fees owed by Users;

    (ix)         collection of amounts outstanding from Users;

    (x)          transferring personal data internationally in association with the aforementioned purposes.

     

    MCA will keep such data confidential but MCA may provide such information to the following persons or corporations whether or not they are in Hong Kong:

    (i)          any agent or third party service provider who provides services to MCA in connection with the operation of its business;

    (ii)          any other person under a duty of confidentiality to MCA which has undertaken to keep such information confidential;

    (iii)         any actual or proposed assignee of MCA or participant or sub-participant or transferee of the MCA's rights in respect of you;

    (iv)         any government department of Hong Kong

  • Correcting, Updating and Removing Personal Data

    Under and in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (the "Ordinance"), a User may have the right to (i) check whether MCA holds personal data about him/her; (ii) access such personal data; (iii) require MCA to correct any personal data relating to him/her which is inaccurate.

  • Data Security and Integrity

    MCA will use commercially reasonable efforts to remove an User's personal data when it is no longer required for the purposes set forth above. However, MCA cannot guarantee that such loss, misuse, alteration, destruction or retention of personal data will never occur, and makes no representations or warranties to this effect.

  • Third Party Web SitesData Security and Integrity

    The MCA web site may provide links to third party web sites. MCA does not make any representations or warranties with respect to such third party web sites. Users of the MCA web site should be aware the owners and operators of such third party web sites might collect, use or transfer personal data under different terms and conditions than MCA. Upon linking to a third party web site, users of the MCA should inform themselves of the privacy policies of such third party web sites.

     

    MCA reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy at its sole discretion at any time without prior notice.
